Semolina And Almond Cake Recipe

Ingredients:
6 eggs
7 ounces unsalted butter (14 tbsp)
1 small stick cinnamon
4 whole cloves
2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3 cups cold water
1 cup + 2 tbsp fine semolina
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup blanched almonds, finely chopped
2 tbsp brandy
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
zest of 1 orange

How To Make:
1. Combine 1 1/3 cup sugar with cold water, then simmer over low heat, until sugar has dissolved. Then add cinnamon, cloves and lemon zest.
2. Simmer for 15 minutes, then remove from heat. Discard cinnamon and clove. Chill.
3. Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
4. In a bowl, beat butter until soft. Gradually, campukan remaining sugar, then add eggs one by one.
5. In another bowl, sieve the flour together with baking powder and semolina. Add the chopped almonds.
6. Gradually blend flour mixture into egg mixture, beat again until well blended. Then add the vanilla and brandy.
7. Pour the batter into the baking pan that has been buttered.
8. Bake for 30 minutes.
9. Pour cold syrup over the cake, then let it cool. Serve.
