Golden Sponge Cake With Creamy Filling Recipe

Ingredients:
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter, softened
5 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
Powdered sugar and mint, for garnish

How To Make:
1. Make cake according to package directions. Cool and remove from pan.
2. By using threads, split the middle of the cake, until there are two layers of cake.
3. In a saucepan, combine the flour and milk. Cook until thick. Set aside. Leave at room temperature.
4. In a bowl, combine sugar, shortening, salt, butter and vanilla. Beat with mixer until fluffy.
5. Add milk mixture, then beat again until fluffy.
6. Spread in the middle of the cake, then cover with top cake layer.
7. Garnish with powdered sugar and mint.
